Letter from our Executive Director

Welcome to WAVE!

We all have a role to play in our democracy, an opportunity to shape the future of our country, and the capacity to be a force for positive change and progress. If, as Jane Goodall has stated, “[t]he great danger to our future is apathy,” then the corollary is equally true – that the greatest promise for our future is our engagement.

Founded in our commitment to build a thriving and inclusive democracy, WAVE engages, educates, and empowers our members and their communities to advance progressive values and ethics. We are nonpartisan and are not beholden to dogma or party politics, but instead hold fast to aspirations tethered to core values of integrity, inclusion, unity, optimism, intellectualism, respect, and a commitment to progress.

At WAVE we care about what you think and believe, we value your unique perspective, and we believe that your voice must be heard if collectively we are to more fully realize the best of our communities and the promise of our country.

The work of WAVE transcends election cycles. We aspire to tend to the needs of our communities and all people, by building a better tomorrow for future generations. To achieve that goal, we created another arm of the WAVE organization, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit — WAVE Action Fund – to support our grassroots and community work. WAVE Action Fund is committed to forging strong community partnerships in areas such as gun safety, migrant rights, the environment, and public education. We aim to build capacity in legislative advocacy, education, and training, and we place much energy on energizing and mobilizing voters.

We invite you to join with us so we can become an even stronger voice for progressive values and ethics in America.

In unity,

Ali Monge
Executive Director and Board President of the WAVE Political Action Committee
