Because of our dedicated and effective members, WAVE has evolved from a fledgling band of committed activists into a well-respected organization that makes a significant impact on the Orange County political landscape. Financially, we have grown into one of the largest political action committees in the county, and our volunteers dedicate an incredible number of hours to advocate for our values, both electorally and issue-based.
As WAVE fulfills many needs for many people, we want to be here for the long haul — crafting new ways to empower our members, creating new avenues to make an impact. WAVE 2024 Impact
WAVE continues to maximize impact in 2024 with a focused effort on primary and general elections to support endorsed candidates, increase voter engagement, and increase and strengthen member participation.
WAVE leadership laid out three simple yet crucial goals for 2024 in order to realize election victories across all levels of government:
- Vigorously support our endorsed candidates from the bottom of the ballot all the way to the top.
- Increase voter engagement through voter education and get-out-the-vote efforts.
- Increase and strengthen member participation by providing more opportunities for engagement, education, and empowerment.
WAVE hit all three goals during both the primary and general elections:
In 2024, WAVE endorsed a total of 81 candidates (10 for the primaries, 71 for the general). While we did not see victories in some of the key races we followed, we were pleased with the overall picture of our endorsements:
